Foxing to prelims., one leaf creased (binding fault).
Nine of the plates are from drawings by Aborigines, e.g. "Hunting Party. Drawing by 'Yertabrida Solomon' an Aboriginal of the Coorong".  The frontispiece and remaining six plates are original photographs, albumen prints, and depict, "A Camp of the Narrinyeri, Lake Alexandrina" (the frontispiece) showing eight Aborigines seated before a hut, two of the other photographs show weapons, mats, baskets etc. The remaining four photographs are individual portraits and depict, "Waldaninyeri, a Woman of the Narrinyeri Tribe";  "Wewat-thelari, a Man of the Narrinyeri Tribe";  "Ngunaitponi, a Man of the Narrinyeri Tribe";  & "Mimukulari, a Woman of the Narrinyeri Tribe";  pp.105-106 of this work give an explanation of the photographs, giving details of the Aborigines portrayed and of the weapons, mats, baskets, twine, girdles and necklaces shown. \
Very rare.  Series 2 was not published.
